This job post is aimed at finding a highly motivated and entrepreneurial professional to join our Special Situations Group (SSG). GBS Special Situations Group (SSG) is growing and looking for a TRAINEE to join the team.

This is a unique opportunity to become part of a small, collaborative team with a flat structure, working closely with Partners and Vice Presidents and taking on real responsibility from day one.

Our team works across a broad spectrum of real estate and credit products, with a strong focus on non-performing assets (NPA) and distressed transactions, including: Real Estate and distressed M&A, debt and capital raising, loan and portfolio sales and securitizations. The final candidates will have exposure across all of these verticals, while contributing to complex and high-impact transactions in the banking and Real Estate sectors.

 

OFF-CYCLE TRAINEE

 

Main tasks:

  • Assistance in the development of financial valuation models;
  • Provide support in transaction execution processes (due diligence, interaction with internal teams, external advisors and counterparties);
  • Assistance in the preparation of marketing materials, including: service pitches, valuation documents and sale process materials among others;

 

Position requirements:

  • Preference for a recent undergraduate with a good academic record.
  • Interest in the banking industry and the RE sector.
  • Priors professional experience. Experience in the financial sector will be a bonus.
  • Knowledge in accounting and business valuation (these skills will be assessed as part of the selection process);
  • Degree in Economics / Business Administration and Management or Engineering;
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Excel and Power Point);
  • Ability to manage databases effectively and work with large datasets;
  • Languages: fluent in English, both written and spoken;
  • Teamwork, good communication skills, results orientated;
  • Analytical capacity and attention to detail.

 

Experience with database tools (e.g. Python, Clementine) and basic legal notions are a bonus.
